The Congress escalated its attack on the government, demanding SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Buch's resignation and a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Adani “mega scam.”
This follows a report by Hindenburg Research that highlights potential conflicts of interest involving Buch.
Conflicts of Interest Alleged
Congress MP Jairam Ramesh questioned whether Buch had properly recused herself from matters involving companies linked to Blackstone, where her husband is employed.
He argued that these conflicts have weakened the trustworthiness of SEBI’s investigation into the Adani Group.
JPC Probe Urged
Ramesh emphasised the need for a JPC investigation to fully address the Adani scandal and resolve issues surrounding Buch’s conflicts of interest.
